Below is an overview of some of our vaccine projects including ultraIPVTM, ultraBAUMTM, IRT-COV, IRT-FLU, FAST parasites, FAST hpv, RapD-Bac, and RapD-Dx.

 

UltraIPVultraIPVTM vaccine project working towards IND enabling studies. Mission is to engineer potential commercial UVC inactivation device, produce GLP/GMP-like lots for animal safety and efficacy studies, and prepare regulatory documentation for IND application. (funded by Phase IIb NIAID Research Grant)

 

ultraBAUMVaccine project working towards the finalization of a lead candidate for an Acinetobacter Baumannii species. The UVC inactivation platform was utilized on selected planktonic and biofilm cultures with MDP and tested at WRAIR in mice. [Preliminary data was funded by Phase II NIAID Research Grant]

 

IRT COVVaccine project working towards a universal covid vaccine utilizing proprietary epitope prediction software and the immune refocusing lt blue sq2technology. Purpose of this project was to develop a vaccine that would better protect patients from emerging variants as the virus evolves over time. [Internally Funded]

 

IRT FLUVaccine project working towards a universal influenza vaccine utilizing proprietary epitope prediction software and immune refocusing technology. Purpose of this project was to develop a vaccine that would be broadly neutralizing allowing greater protection of circulating strains. Goal was to eliminate the need for the “hit-or-miss” approach of annual immunization. [Funded by a Phase I NIH Research Grant].

 

FAST parasitesDiagnostic project working towards a reliable device that can lt blue sq1provide the accuracy of a laboratory assay with the ability to be utilized in the field with limited resources for low- and middle-income endemic countries. The two pathogens of interest are Leishmaniasis and Malaria.

 

FAST hpvDiagnostic project working towards a reliable device that can provide the accuracy of a laboratory assay with the ability to be utilized in the field with limited resources for low- and middle-income impacted countries. This type of device is urgently needed to reduce the incidence of HPV and cervical cancer.

 

RapDlt blue sq2Diagnostic project working towards identification of bacterial infections in emergency room and rapid clinics through the use of the highly sensitive and rapid analysis of the ellipsometry based technology. This technology is aimed at minimizing the progression of infections to life threating sepsis and reducing the growing antibiotic resistance epidemic through the use of only the most effective antibiotics.

RapD-Dx_Logo.pngDiagnostic project working towards testing of patients who are prescribed opioids at pain management clinics and/or prior to surgery. Patient overdose is a growing concern and is a primary focus at pain management clinics where complications from recreational drugs or overuse are real possibilities. The testing needs to be highly sensitive, specific and fast enough to be conducted in-house. For patients undergoing anesthesia , current drug levels are vital to prevent complications during surgery. Accurate testing is important to ensure that any residual drugs in the system will not interact with the anesthesia.
